Around the turn of the last century influential businessman Edward Dilworth Latta introduced the first streetcar to Charlotte, creating what historian Dr. Thomas W. Hanchett called the city’s first streetcar suburb – Dilworth. According to Dr. Hanchett, the loop track where trolley cars turned around to head back to the Charlotte square was at the intersection of East Boulevard and Park Road, and along the way riders were treated to the beautiful parks and neighborhoods developed by Latta. Over 100 years later, Taco Mama found Dilworth and the surrounding communities perfect for fans of fresh-made tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and those hand-shaken margaritas so when you come, join us on the patio and enjoy all that Taco Mama and Dilworth has to offer!
